Champa Roy: When I started writing this book I had hoped to include contributions from some of the legendary figures that came in contact with my father during his long and, illustrious career. It has been several years since I started, but my efforts have not been in vain. I am sincerely grateful to Dilip Kumar for answering the very first call I made to him and agreeing to write a piece. He also blessed me for the venture and wished me luck. Alas, not all the articles came as easily as Dilip Kumar’s. But I am grateful to each one for they have enriched this book beyond measure. Without their reminiscences this book would have been ordinary.
